Who's Tuck?

Tuck Hersey is a radio DJ residing in Sapporo, the capital city of Hokkaido, a big north island of Japan, known for what he calls "groove talk" alomst like music, using his deep ear-pleasing voice and deeper understanding of music in general. He is currently hosting “Sapporo Hot 100,” a four-hour live countdown show on FM North Wave.
He first heard the “yeah yeah yeah” on the radio when he was three years old without knowing the song was performed by the Beatles. Upon finding out the song was the band’s 1963 huge hit, he picked up his first guitar and started his musical journey, ending up becoming a musician producing various songs for commercials. He made his debut as a radio DJ in 1987 and has been playing and sharing good music with listeners for nearly 40 years.
He performs Beatles music with his band at local clubs and writes music for commercials. He is also known as an enthusiastic fan of John Lennon’s 1958 Rickenbacker 325 guitar, and his 325 that he completely modified into the exact Lennon specs is widely known to the world. A well-experienced loyal servant to his cat Matty.

Sapporo Hot 100

Tune in to FM North Wave every Sunday 12:00pm-4:00pm and listen to the weekly countdown show Sapporo Hot 100, where I count down the 100 most popular songs in the Hokkaido area.  Check out the latest broadcast via radiko (available only in Japan).

TECC

TECC (Tuck’s English Conversation Club) offers English lessons with radio DJ Tuck Hersey who has experienced various radio shows in both English and Japanese, focussing on communication in English as a second language.  We also offer the “Sing in English” class, where you can learn to sing in proper English pronunciation rather than katakana.

Matty

Matty is a little scottish fold cat.  He was born on October 23, 2014 and has grown to become the handsome guy in the family.  A skilled assistant when I do voiceover jobs in my home studio.  Visit his Facebook page and see a lot of photos that make you smile and say meow.

Rickenbacker 325 Lennonized

John Lennon played four Rickenbacker guitars in his Beatle years.  The Rickenbacker 325C58 is a replica of the first of the four, the 1958 Rickenbacker 325 that he purchased in Hamburg before The Beatles became famous.  I have done everything I could to modefy the guitar into the exact Lennon specs.

I love taking photographs as much as I love making/playing/listening to music.  Here are some of the photos that I have taken over the years.  Tap/click on each photo for a larger view.  More photos can be seen at my Facebook photo albums.
