■Truss Rod Cover/トラスロッド・カバー

リッケンバッカー325C58のトラスロッド・カバー（TRC／ネームプレート）は、ジョン・レノンの1958年製の325のものと比較して少し短く、形もズングリとしていてます。そのため、トップのネジの位置が違い、ペイントされているロゴも全体的に少し小さくなっています。

ロゴのスタイルもジョンのものと微妙に違います。例えば325C58のロゴの「b」の縦線が下の長い横線と交わる部分が右にカーブを描くように丸くなっていますが、ジョンの325はそうなっていません。以上の点を修正したトラスロッド・カバーを取り付けました。詳しくは写真をご覧ください。

The truss-rod cover that comes with the Rickenbacker 325C58 is slightly shorter than the one on John Lennon’s original 1958 325. As a result, the top screw hole sits a bit lower, the logo painted on the back of the TRC is slightly smaller, and the lettering style is subtly different. For example, on the “b,” the vertical stroke meets the long horizontal line below it in a different shape. See the photos for reference.

■Grover Sta-Tite Tuners/グローバー・ペグ

リッケンバッカー325C58に搭載されたチューニング・ペグは、ジョン・レノンの1958年製325のGrover Sta-Titeペグを復刻した日本のGotoh製のものです。正確に再現されていますが、当然「Grover」という刻印はありません。eBayで1950年代後半〜1960年代初頭のGrover Sta-Titeを手に入れて交換しました。

John Lennon’s 1958 325 was fitted with Grover open-back Sta-Tite tuners. The Rickenbacker 325C58, however, comes with accurate reproduction Sta-Tites made by the Japanese company Gotoh—which, of course, don’t carry the “Grover” name. I replaced them with a set of late-’50s/early-’60s Grover Sta-Tites I found on eBay and installed them on my 325C58.
